Pursuers of a Fighting Chance

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian aid organization founded in 1971, with its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The organization was established by a group of French doctors and journalists with the mission of providing emergency medical assistance to regions affected by wars, natural disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and shortages of medical resources. MSF is known for its principles of independence, neutrality, and impartiality, ensuring that it operates free from political, religious, or economic influence.
MSF's work includes, but is not limited to, medical aid in war zones and conflict areas, prevention and control of infectious diseases and public health crises, disaster relief, emergency response, and assistance for refugees. In recognition of its efforts, MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.
Why We Choose Médecins Sans Frontières
As an international organization, MSF also has a branch in Taiwan. Despite its small population and complex sovereignty status, Taiwan's MSF branch plays a significant role in the organization. We are interested in understanding how the Taiwan branch operates, how it collaborates with the global MSF network, how it conducts medical and social aid activities locally, and what its positioning is within MSF as a whole.
Expectations
Through our exploration of MSF, we aim to raise awareness about the organization's mission, background, objectives, and actions. To achieve this, we have conducted extensive research, gathered information, and interviewed local MSF media representatives. Our goal is to use online platforms and websites to provide the public with a deeper understanding of Médecins Sans Frontières.
